"Earlier(2020) I was able to bear the lockdown, but now it really sucks!!"

"My college life is ruined bro!"

"Bhai koi iss lockdown to khatam karvao!!"

"College kab khulege yaar...!"

"Fees kam karvao yarr college walo se!"

Being a college student in India, i am very well aware of all these lines and the actual condition of the students now a days.

Recently I watched the video of a famous YouTuber and Educator, over how the colleges are demanding unfair amount of fees from the students, and allowing to attend the semester exams, once the fee is paid.

Its very true that the Indian colleges are taking unfair fee from their students in this harsh situation of covid, thus creating more pressure over their parents. 

In my college too, they were asking us to pay the Sport and Transport fee to the department even when we are at home and have no touch with these college facilities. Students ran over Twitter and did hundreds of tweets regarding the decrement in the fees, taging many public figures including the PM of our country. 

As a result our college finally cutted down some of the little fee out of the total, and in return handed us a ton of assignments and projects based over the syllabus we haven't even covered!

Its simply the typical indian way to take the revenge!

Although i still think that we(students) have other unfair advantages too.

• We hardly open the book at home.
• We usually cheat in the online exams, as all the answers are available over the net usually. TouchWood!
• We rarely attend/listen the online classes.
• We can do anything we want except studying.

Still our college faculties try their best to ensure that we the students are very well engaged in the studies, but we usually find a way out..

 

Sometimes we do feel bad about the money our parents are spending over us as our college fees, and we are not able to do something good about it.

 

In these hard situations, i know some of my friends who are not able to pay the college fees due to the financial problems their parents are facing in this lockdown, which makes me sad and silent deep inside.

 

Many of us are having health related problems too in our families. Some of us are losting our relatives, grandparents, friends and even parents!

Some of us are even tested positive for corona virus and taking bed rest for weeks!

But still we somehow manage to submit all the assignments, projects, attend the lectures, give vivas, and all the huge amount of unfair fees that our college demands for.

 

I think that in these tough conditions, we all need to feel the situations, problems other might be facing. 

Colleges should take the semester fee as they also have to pay to their staff and workers, but the amount should be valid and fair.
